Loftia Map Guide: All Three Districts, Travel Routes, and Secret Areas

A complete tour of the Loftia map: Loftia City, Hanging Gardens, and Gridfall, plus tool gating, travel routes, and hidden spots worth the trip.

The Loftia map looks intimidating at first: sprawling districts, floating islands, underground tunnels, and more gathering nodes than you can shake a pruner at. But once you understand how the Loftia map is laid out, the whole world turns into a loop instead of a maze. Knowing each district's gating, foraging routes, and travel shortcuts saves hours of wandering — especially early on, when your energy budget is thin and your tools are still level one.

Below is a district-by-district tour of the Loftia map as documented during the closed beta by creators with early access, plus what the official Early Access page has confirmed. Every area, material, and unlock condition here comes from those sources — no guesswork.

How the Loftia Map Is Structured

Loftia is a cozy, solarpunk MMO from Qloud Games. You get a floating island home, link it with neighbors, and travel outward into shared districts. The connective tissue is the airtram station in Loftia City, which is how you reach the other districts; a hot air balloon can whisk you back home.

In the closed beta build documented by early-access creators, three districts were playable: Loftia City, the Hanging Gardens, and Gridfall. The official Early Access page, captured October 21, 2026, also highlights Hanging Gardens and Gridfall as headline districts — the Hanging Gardens described as a peaceful floating island, and Gridfall as the salvaging district built from scraps of the old world.

Loftia's Early Access launch was scheduled for November 3, 2026 at 1pm EST according to the official site at that snapshot, so treat any beta-era map detail as a starting point rather than a permanent layout.

Loftia City: The Starting District

Every new character begins here, and it is the smallest and busiest of the three districts — packed with wandering NPCs, merchants, and four distinct gathering zones arranged around the central hub.

The four quadrants

  • Scrap Quarter (southwest): One of the first areas you enter. Look for Plastic Discards, Metal Scraps, and Screws among the apartments and powerlines.
  • Construction Site (southeast): Same salvaging loop, different loot. Clay and Scrap Wood spawn here, and the open scaffolding invites climbing.
  • Hills (northeast): A nature pocket with waterfalls, a lake, and a small fishing dock. Forage Plant Fiber, Portobello Mushrooms, and Wild Berries, plus more Clay.
  • Solar Farm (northwest): Solar panels in every shape imaginable, plus Scrap Wire, Glass Cullets, Tires, Metal Scraps, and a little Scrap Wood.

Who to talk to

Pebble serves as your guide, Milo handles repair-related systems, Ryder sends players out on island adventures, Jun runs the Global Village, and Amani sells the permits that let you place more furniture and garden beds. Linda unlocks clothing collections, Estella does the same for furniture, and Hazel sells seeds. If your storage is overflowing, the shipping bin near your plot is where you sell surplus food for income.

Hanging Gardens: The Floating Nature District

If Loftia City is concrete with a little green, the Hanging Gardens flips that ratio. It is the most visually striking corner of the Loftia map — mushroom forests, waterfalls, butterflies, and cozy bridges, with small pockets of homes instead of any major settlement.

The Grove is the populated heart of the district and where you land. Herb the gardener is stationed here, and Arlo runs the Community Farming event that fires every real-world hour: sign up on the board, grab the requested seeds, grow and water and harvest together, then drop the produce in the basket for rewards.

Central Garden anchors the middle of the map with a massive lake. It is a prime fishing spot and a good place to scoop up Algae and Plant Fiber along the shore.

Windmill Island holds the giant windmill and, after you finish the opening quests, Hazel moves out here. Rattan and Copper Scraps are common nearby, and caves around the district hide Bauxite Ore. On the western edge sits the Floating Village, home to Kassim the fish expert.

Overgrowth and the Secret Lake

North of the Grove, Kun guards the entrance to the Overgrowth. This is the explorer's payoff: Flax, Cinnamon, Cumin, Oyster and Enoki Mushrooms, Bioluminescent Ivy, Resin, Bananas, Cacao, and Coconuts all spawn across its nooks and crannies.

The Overgrowth also hides a genuine secret. On its eastern side, once you have the Propeller upgrade for your glider, a short jumping sequence takes you to a peak you can glide from — landing you at the Secret Lake. That hidden island is the only place to catch the big fish required for a specific bundle, and one platform there offers a sweeping view of the district plus a glide path toward Windmill Island.

Gridfall: The Salvaging District

Gridfall is Loftia's take on ruins: modern-looking city blocks abandoned, crumbling, and overgrown, full of salvage to reuse and space to make a home. The vibe is neon and rust in equal measure.

Historical Quarter is the entry point, with Cliff the tram operator and the rail system that defines the district. Vines, Electronic Scraps, Wild Greens, Rusted Metal, and Glass Cullets are all over the area, and plenty of broken objects can be fixed with your wrench for Rust Resistant Alloys.

Urbex — short for urban exploration — is the standout activity. Enter a door and the camera shifts to a top-down view as you explore semi-instanced interiors for artifacts, Magnets, Fabric Scraps, and the occasional Carbon Fiber or Power Cables.

Underground and beyond. Beneath the streets, an area literally called the Underground yields sand and gears and opens more Urbex entrances; per community reports, it wants level 3 hammer and pruner to move through efficiently. Patchwork Plaza is thick with cardboard for your pruners, and trash piles there pay out more when salvaged with another player. Neon Alley hosts Leela's Kinetic Energy Program, where emoting generates power. The museum, run by Atlas, is where you hand in artifacts.

Finally, once you unlock rail boots, you can ride a rail out of the Historical Quarter to the Concrete Jungle — a quieter, harder-to-reach slice of the Loftia map that rewards patient explorers.

What Actually Gates Your Loftia Map Progress

The map is not gated by story chapters so much as by tools. Knowing the order saves backtracking:

GateRequirementWhat it opens
Overgrowth (Hanging Gardens)Upgraded hammer and prunerThe district's richest gathering zone, including Bananas, Cacao, and Coconuts
Underground (Gridfall)Hammer and pruner at level 3Sand, gears, and additional Urbex doors
Secret Lake (Hanging Gardens)Propeller for your gliderThe hidden lake with exclusive large fish
Concrete Jungle (Gridfall)Rail bootsA remote sub-area reachable only by rail

Two more habits pay off. Craft a Propeller early — it gives you an upward boost mid-glide and turns several "is that decoration?" ledges into real destinations. And carry the Locator when treasure hunting: it marks a dig circle on the ground, and you typically get about three digs before being dropped somewhere random in the city.

Using a Community Interactive Map

If you prefer pins over memory, a third-party companion tool exists. As of an October 21, 2026 snapshot of TH.GL's Loftia companion page, its interactive map listed 2,261 locations across 4 maps, with filters, discovered markers, and custom routes, alongside an item database, recipe list, gathering-spot reference, and crafting calculator. The same snapshot lists spawn types including fishing spots, salvaging nodes, and repairable objects.

That project is independently developed and states it is not affiliated with the game's developers, so treat it as a convenience rather than an official resource. For official details on platforms, pricing, and what Early Access includes, check the Loftia store page on Steam and the official Loftia Early Access page.

Practical Routes That Save Time

  • New player loop: Start in the Scrap Quarter for Screws and Plastic Discards, swing through the Construction Site for Scrap Wood and Clay, then check the Hills for forage before returning to your plot.
  • Money run: The Overgrowth in Hanging Gardens is dense enough that one sweep can fund a shopping trip — community reports single it out as the best gathering-to-income loop in the beta.
  • Fishing day: Central Garden for lake fish and Algae, the Grove's waterways for corals and sea creatures, and Gridfall's sewer channels if you specifically need Algae.
  • Group session: Do the hourly Community Farming event in the Grove, then hop the airtram to Gridfall and salvage trash piles together for bonus rewards.

FAQ

How many districts are on the Loftia map? Three were playable in the closed beta: Loftia City, the Hanging Gardens, and Gridfall. The official Early Access page, captured October 21, 2026, spotlights Hanging Gardens and Gridfall as major districts, with more world content planned over time.

Do I need an interactive Loftia map to enjoy the game? No. Every district is navigable on foot or by glider, and quests walk you to the important NPCs. A companion map simply helps when you are hunting a specific spawn, like a rare fishing spot or a repairable object.

What is the fastest way around the Loftia map? The airtram station in Loftia City connects the districts, and a hot air balloon returns you home from Gridfall's museum area. Once you unlock rail boots, Gridfall's rails become the quickest way to cross that district.

Is anything on the Loftia map missable? Based on beta coverage, no — gated areas stay gated by tools, not by time. The one time-sensitive activity is the hourly Community Farming event in the Grove, which cycles rather than expires.
